HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY
Believe it or not, an aphrodisiac is defined as a food, drink or drug that increases your libido. While eating or drinking any one particular food may not be enough to get you in the mood, there are some antioxidant rich foods that when made part of a healthy diet may benefit you when the time is right ;)
Oysters - quite possibly the most common known aphrodisiac food, are high in Zinc (important for testosterone production). They also contain Tyrosine, involved in the production of Dopamine (a feel good hormone).
Watermelon – contains Citrulline which relaxes and dilates blood vessels.
Dark Chocolate – Contains flavonoids that increase blood flow, serotonin and dopamine. They also contain Phenylethylamine which gives us a feeling of euphoria.
Arugula – Contains dietary nitrates which convert to nitric oxide and increase blood flow.
Garlic – Contains Allicin, which increases blood flow.
Cloves – Contains Eugenol, which boosts the cardiovascular system.
